I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Easter/Passover week. I’m always thankful for holidays, as they allow me a few days of downtime. This past weekend, I took some time to do some research, scour wedding magazines, think up new designs… And reflect on wedding traditions.
When I tell people that I am a wedding planner, they often ask me what kind of brides I deal with. Are they nice? Are they mean? Are they wedding-obsessed? Well, most of them are super nice, and definitely not all of them are wedding-obsessed. But here’s the curious thing: No one ever asks what kind of grooms I deal with.
For us ladies, weddings are all about us. Well, also about the food, and the dancing, and the party, and the family and friends, but mainly about us. Everyone wants to see what the bride is wearing, what bouquet she’s carrying, how her makeup is done. We obsess over pretty pink palettes, over peonies and hydrangeas and anemones. We agonize over the neckline of our dress, over the color of our shoes, over the bridesmaids dresses.
But what about the man? Ladies, I think it’s time we showed him some appreciation. After all, he swept you off your feet, made nice with mom and dad, and was approved by your friends. He even {gasp} went out, bought a diamond, and asked you to be his forever.
So here’s a little somethin’ for all the grooms out there. An inspiration board inspired by manly things, and manly shades. No frills, no fuss, but still nothing but pure prettiness. Consider this our sign of appreciation.
