Hello there! I am Elyna Kudish, the face behind Unity Weddings. Actually, since this is pretty much a one-woman show, I am not only the wedding planner, but also the secretary, CFO, CEO, accountant, head of marketing, and, well, you get the point.
No, I did not grow up dreaming of my big, white, fluffy wedding. Truth be told, I come from a very small family, so I did not even grow up going to weddings. I did, however, grow up re-organizing my friends’ closets, organizing their surprise birthday parties, and constantly decorating and re-decorating my room.
Schooled in literature, public relations, and small business management, I am not your ordinary wedding planner. I don’t believe that getting some sort of certificate in wedding planning makes you good at it. I do think that it takes the perfect mix of keen eye for design, organizational skills, social comfort, and absolute love for what you do. And that, I have.
Since I firmly believe that, in order for me to create your perfect wedding, we need to “get” each other, here are a few things you should know about me:
I absolutely love: coffee, tulle, eclectic design, my Mac, travels, big windows and high ceilings, colorful nail polish, constant change, summertime, raw meat, peonies, sushi, crazy fun weddings, white light and the color black, tattoos, bold jewelry, kindness, working very late at night, Elvis Presley’s song “fools rush in”, brick walls, incredible stories of how some of my clients met, dirty martinis on gin, my scrapbook/life book, square tables, symmetry, mixed patterns, and candles.
I absolutely can’t stand: empty walls, ugly furniture, dust, rude people, phony people, spelling mistakes, chair covers, people who say “this is the way we always do it”, color-spotted photographs, itchy sweaters, fake flowers, bugs of all kinds (yes, even butterflies), people who ask me if I work as a wedding planner full time (hmm, do you work as a doctor full time?), laziness, waiters who pile up dirty plates directly on the table, sweaty wedding cakes, blue roses, and the colors brown and green together (look like a tree much?)
Voila! Can’t wait to meet you!
xoxo
