With a kitschy idea like a picnic (or a carnival, etc.), there’s a fine line between cute and tacky, so if you’ve decided to go with this idea don’t get too carried away. Choose certain elements that are picnic-y but don’t overwhelm your day with red-and-white checkers and buckets of chicken.

We donated the leftover food from our wedding to a local homeless shelter (they picked it right up from our caterer the following Monday). But I also love this new trend I discovered – plantable stationary and more.

My favourite thing when I was a kid was making my own sundaes. My parents would take out two different flavors of ice cream, three sauces (chocolate, caramel and strawberry), whipped cream, banana slices, chopped nuts, and sprinkles, and my brother and I would go to town! Interactive food stations are fun, and when they’re filled with only sweet treats, guests will be doubly happy. Candy buffets are one of the more common sweet table themes and are always a hit.
