self-serve sweets

sweet table

My favourite thing when I was a kid was making my own sundaes. My parents would take out two different flavors of ice cream, three sauces (chocolate, caramel and strawberry), whipped cream, banana slices, chopped nuts, and sprinkles, and my brother and I would go to town! Interactive food stations are fun, and when they’re filled with only sweet treats, guests will be doubly happy.

Candy buffets are one of the more common sweet table themes and are always a hit. But more and more, couples are taking dessert to the next level with other sugary spreads, like the aforementioned ice cream buffet, chocolate free-for-alls, and even cookie buffets (it’s like having your own bakery at your wedding!). Depending on how fancy you want to get (chocolate chip versus lemon paisley cookies) sweet tables centered around a specific “treat” is a relatively easy and inexpensive way to really personalize your special day (you may even want to give out little toothbrushes with toothpaste for the wedding favors!)
